Do you have a good command of English but wish to communicate your ideas with even more confidence?

Would you like to speak English with more fluency and with a more diverse, international audience?

Language Coaching for Professionals

I help my clients express themselves confidently and fluently in English.

Whether the goal is to build confidence, increase vocabulary and fluidity of speech, or present complex ideas simply to an international audience, I work with individuals and companies to present their best selves.

Here are a few examples:

  • I have a Swedish client who is well-read, intelligent and a thought leader in her field. She is active in local politics and desires to participate more fully in national and international policy. Her understanding of English is excellent, yet she lacks industry-specific vocabulary and confidence in her ability to express herself in front of other professionals. Together, we are building her confidence step-by-step, enhancing her fluency and authentic expression in English, and preparing her to present at a variety of international meetings.

  • Another client presents regularly in English but finds herself forgetting vocabulary. She knows the words and expressions, but does not express them articulately during her presentations. We have refined her presentations by clarifying her word choice and the meaning she strives to communicate, enhancing her visual aids, and practicing her delivery so that she sounds natural, confident and like the expert she is.

"A different language is a different vision of life."
~ Federico Fellini

I also assist clients to better understand how people from different cultures and countries perceive the world around them, how they communicate and act. This can involve examining what information they choose to communicate, how they infuse messages with meaning, which media they use, and how those messages may be interpreted.

I offer insight into American, French-speaking cultures, and Swedish culture, as well as your own native culture. By examining how and why you say what you say, do and think the way you do, you are better able to meet someone from a different culture with perspective and respect. With this sense of inquiry, you will be able to speak and act from a place of interest, non-judgment and acceptance that cultivates open and productive relationships.

In a professional setting, effective intercultural awareness translates to less miscommunication, better relationships among colleagues, a happier, healthier work environment, and increased productivity.

I offer language coaching services individually and in small groups.

We can work in person or via Zoom.
