I am a perpetual student of life. I love to learn and share what I've learned.

As a student I became fluent in French and fell in love with languages and cultures.

My professional career has included working in corporate communications for French and Dutch banks in Chicago, extensive writing and editing, merging company cultures as part of international corporate acquisitions, and planning communication strategies and branding campaigns.

The insights I obtained from merging corporate cultures coupled with my love of language and culture led me to pursue a Ph.D. in French and Francophone Cultural Studies.

Little did I know at the time that I would end up working in France, and later living in Sweden with my Dutch husband and our Amish dog. 

My whole life has become an exploration of meaningful communication and cultures—and cultural misunderstandings!

At the heart of everything I do is connection. This means connecting with employees, colleagues, customers and communities by using clear, culturally relevant language.

In a nutshell, I:

  • am fluent in English and French.

  • speak and write intermediate-level Swedish.

  • provide a variety of editing and proofreading services for entrepreneurs and small businesses, especially those who use English as their second language.

  • offer private and group Language Coaching to ensure that you communicate exactly what you mean, with confidence and in a culturally appropriate manner.

  • work with clients in person, by phone or email, via Zoom or FaceTime.

From my own experiences, I understand the inseparable relationship between language and cultural understanding, and how vital both are to communicate effectively.
