I’d like you to edit my document. How do I start?

E-mail me at kanderson.demiranda@gmail.com. Include your name, contact information, a brief description of your document, its editing needs, your deadline, and any questions, comments, or requests. Attach your document as a Word file. 

The editing process

We discuss your document and the kind of editing you desire by e-mail, phone, or in person. I’m interested in your project, your needs, your concerns, and your timeline. After reviewing an excerpt of your document, I send you a sample of the kind of work I can do along with a timeline and a quote.

Once I get your approval, I edit your document section by section using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes. This feature allows me to write comments and questions in the margins and allows you to see and accept or reject the changes I make.

You will receive an edited document with all changes clearly marked and a variety of comments in the margins. Word allows you to accept or reject each of the changes I made.

Pricing

Each client has unique needs, and projects come in various shapes and sizes. I charge a project rate that takes into account the unique needs of each document or online project. The best thing to do is send me a portion of your text in Word. I will review it to get a sense of the scope of your project and how I can help. Then I’ll send you a sample of the kind of editing I could do for it. I will also send you a quote with the cost for editing the entire document in that same way. No surprises: You’ll know the total cost and quality of editing ahead of time.
